Go Boom (2 player card game)

Objective: The objective of Go Boom is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand.

Adaptation for 2 Players: In the 2 player version of Go Boom, the game is adapted to suit only two players. The gameplay remains largely the same, with adjustments made to accommodate the reduced player count.

Setup:

  1. Remove all the cards from the deck except for the numbered cards (2 through 10) and the Jokers.
  2. Shuffle the remaining cards thoroughly and deal them evenly between the two players, face down.

Scoring: In Go Boom, scoring is not a separate component of the game. The objective is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. There are no specific points awarded during the game.

Gameplay:

  1. Starting the Game: The player with the lowest card goes first. If both players have the same lowest card, they continue drawing cards from the deck until one player gets the lowest card.
  2. Taking Turns: Players take turns in a clockwise direction.
  3. Playing Cards: On their turn, a player must play a card that matches the suit or rank of the card on top of the discard pile. If a player cannot play a card, they must draw a card from the deck. If the drawn card can be played, they may immediately play it.
  4. Special Cards:
    • Jokers: Jokers are wild and can be played on any card. When played, the player specifies the suit that the Joker represents.
    • 2s: A player who plays a 2 can choose any suit for the next player to follow.
  5. Skipping Turns: If a player cannot play a card after drawing from the deck, their turn is skipped, and play moves to the next player.
  6. Winning: The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.

Summary: Go Boom is a fast-paced 2 player card game where the objective is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Players take turns playing cards that match the suit or rank of the card on top of the discard pile. The game has been adapted for 2 players by adjusting the rules to suit a smaller player count.
