Blackjack (2 player card game)

Objective: Blackjack is a classic casino card game where players aim to beat the dealer’s hand without going over 21. Typically played with multiple players against the dealer, it can be adapted for two players competing against each other.

Setup: Use a standard deck of 52 cards. Shuffle the deck and deal two cards face up to each player. The dealer will also receive two cards, one face up and one face down.

Gameplay:

1. Player 1’s Turn: Player 1 begins by deciding whether to “hit” (take another card) or “stand” (keep their current hand). They can continue hitting until they’re satisfied with their hand or until they exceed a total of 21 points, resulting in a “bust.”

2. Player 2’s Turn: Player 2 follows the same procedure as Player 1, deciding whether to hit or stand based on the value of their hand and the visible card of the dealer.

3. Dealer’s Turn: Once both players have completed their turns, the dealer reveals their face-down card. If the dealer’s total is 16 or less, they must hit until they reach 17 or more. If the dealer busts, all remaining players win.

4. Scoring: Points are awarded based on the value of the hand:

   • Number Cards: 2 through 10 are worth their face value.
   • Face Cards: Jacks, Queens, and Kings are each worth 10 points.
   • Aces: Aces can be worth either 1 or 11 points, whichever is more favorable to the hand’s total without exceeding 21.
   • Blackjack: A Blackjack is a hand consisting of an Ace and a 10-point card (10, Jack, Queen, King) and pays out 1.5 times the bet.
   • Winning Hands: The player with a hand closest to 21 without going over wins. If both players bust, the dealer wins. If the dealer busts and one player doesn’t, the non-busting player wins.

5. End of Round: After determining the winner, players can choose to continue playing additional rounds or stop.
